Anderson University: Nicholson Library

Some 2,000 volumes total. Approximately 175 foreign-language hymnals, 360 books on hymnody and hymnology, with hymnals from approximately 120 denominations and groups. The collection includes approximately 150 pamphlet-length items. The strength is in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century American publications. This collection was donated to Anderson University by Bill and Gloria Gaither. It was formerly owned by The Hymn Society of America. At this time Anderson University does not have a plan to purchase additional materials to complement or expand this collection. Online records are available. One collection, the Barney Warren papers (Archives W650 1995), contains manuscript scores, etc. by Warren, a hymn writer associated with the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) Reformation Movement.
