Jansson, Florence Edna Pedigo. (Patrick County, Virginia, June 9, 1896--?). As of July 1979, resided in New Castle, Va. United Methodist. Daughter of Daniel Thomas and Delia (Foley) Pedigo. Married William P. Jansson December 27, 1927. No children. A.B. Sociology, Columbian College, George Washington University, 1940. Employed by federal government, Washington, D.C. for 27 years as a clerk in the War Risk Insurance Agency, the Veterans' Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Civil Service.

She published approximately 400 poems, which appeared in The Christian Herald and The Saturday Evening Post, the Washington Post, the Evening Star, and the New York Times. Many of these are written in a light, humorous vein. She wrote one hymn which was published by the Hymn Society in Twelve Hymns for Children (1965): "A bird, a lovely butterfly."
