O God, Your Constant Care and Love

Author: H. Glen Lanier, 1925-1978 Meter: 8.8.8.8 D Appears in 7 hymnals Scripture: Psalm 31:15 Lyrics: 1 O God, your constant care and love are shed upon us from above, throughout our lives in every stage, from infancy to later age. We thank you, Lord, for dreams of youth, for wisdom leading on to truth, for memories gathered through the years, and faith that grows from joys and tears. 2 All time is yours, O Lord, to give. May we, in all the years we live, find that each day of life is new, a celebration, Lord, with you. Let not the passing of the years rob us of joy or cause us fears, and may our faith, O Lord, hold true, that we may always rest in you. Used With Tune: LAMB OF GOD

What'er Events Abide

Appears in 4 hymnals Scripture: Psalm 31 Lyrics: 1 What'er events abide, Thy wisdom times them all: Then, LORD, Thy servant safely hide from those that seek His fall. 2 The brightness of Thy face to me, O LORD, disclose; And, as Thy mercies still increase, preserve me from my foes. 3 Me from dishonor save, who still have called on Thee; Let that, and silence in the grave, the sinner's portion be. 4 Do Thou their tongues restrain, whose breath in lies is spent; Who false reports, with proud disdain, against the righteous vent. 5 How great Thy mercies are to such as fear Thy Name, Which You, for those that trust Thy care, do to the world proclaim! 6 Thou keep'st them in Thy sight, from proud oppressors free; From tongues that do in strife delight they are preserved by Thee. 7 I said, in hasty flight, "I'm banished from Thine eyes?" Yet still Thou kept'st me in Thy sight and heard'st my earnest cries. 8 O all ye saints, the LORD with eager love pursue; Who to the just will help afford, and give the proud their due. 9 Ye that on God rely, courageously proceed: For He will still your hearts supply with strength in time of need. Are we baptiz'd in Christ our Lord

Meter: 8.6.8.6 Appears in 3 hymnals Scripture: Psalm 31 Lyrics: 1 Are we baptiz'd in Christ our Lord, And buried in his death; We are from death to life restor'd And live in him by faith. 2 Is Jesus raised from the dead By his Almighty pow'r. As members of that living head, We live to sin no more. 3 We live, but not to sin enslav'd, As once it was our case; From Satan's power we are sav'd, By Jesus and his grace. 4 Our base affections crucified And nail'd unto the tree; And Christ will ever be enjoy'd, Our life and liberty. 5 We are from day to day renew'd, And made in grace to grow: Into the image of our God, And are his children too. 6 Do we thus imitate him here, Whilst here on earth we live; What glories will the Saviour there, Unto his servants give.
