Representative Text

1 There's an humble, blood-washed band
Journeying to a better land,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah!
They have trials on their way,
But they never cease to pray,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah!

Refrain:
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I belong to that band, Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I belong to that band, Hallelujah!

2 'Tis a consecrated band,
Fighting sin on ev'ry hand,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah!
Jesus is their Friend and Guide,
While they in His love abide,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah! [Refrain]

3 They are sanctified in God,
They His praises spread abroad,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah!
To the world now crucified,
In the Spirit they abide,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah! [Refrain]

4 They do follow Christ their King,
Hiding daily 'neath His wing,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah!
By and by when trouble's done,
They'll rejoice around His throne,
And I belong to that band. Hallelujah! [Refrain]
