Now Sin, With Reign Unbroken

Author: Thomas Kingo Hymnal: Hymnal for Church and Home #157 (1927) Meter: 7.6.7.6.6.7.7.6 First Line: Now, sin, with reign unbroken Lyrics: 1 Now, sin, with reign unbroken, No more shall rule m life, Since God the word hath spoken, That wins for me the strife; Bapized, reborn by grace, I am redeem'd from evil, And have renounced the devil And all his works and ways. 2 How can I rightly treasure My Savior's death for me, When seeking worldly pleasure, I turn to that in glee? Oh, lest I go astray And unto sin surrender, Dear Lord, be my Defender, My Life, my Light, my Way. 3 What profits Easter morning, The temple curtain rent, When I neglect God's warning To pray and to repent, When wandering abroad And yielding to temptation, I lose my soul's salvation, My home, my hope, my God. 4 My Jesus and my Savior, My Friend, my soul's Delight, Oh, help me not to waver, Though Adam offers fight! Help me to hate all sin, And with the utmost candor My heart to Thee surrender, The crown of life to win. Topics: Confirmation Languages: English Tune Title: [Now sin, with reign unbroken]
