Person Name: Anónima Author of "Te alabaré, Señor (O Lord, I Give You Praise)" in Santo, Santo, Santo In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

1939 - 2023 Person Name: Philip W. Blycker, n. 1939 Arranger of "ECUADOR" in Santo, Santo, Santo See also Felipe Blycker-J ========== Philip W. Blycker (b. 1939) is a song writer from Texas who with his wife served as missionaries in Venezuela. They were a major force behind an outpouring of traditional hymn texts written to Latin American music. He joined Camino Global in 1966 and in 1989 became the Music Editor of the Spanish hymnal, Celebremos Su Gloria. He contributed more than a dozen songs to Mil Voces, the Spanish language hymnal of the United Methodist Church. In 2004 they joined the music faculty of the Rio Grande Bible Institute of Edinburg, Texas, on the Mexican border. Sing! A New Creation Philip Blycker, born on March 22, 1939, died on June 11, 2023. A life member of The Hymn Society, Dr. Blycker composed more than 170 Scripture songs in Spanish and about 100 in English. He was also the music editor of the hymnal Celebremos Su Gloria. He taught music for 25 years at the Central American Theological Seminary in Guatemala City, for 15 years at the Puebla Bible Seminary in Puebla, Mexico, and 15 years at the Rio Grande Bible Seminary in Edinburg, Texas. Skinner Chávez-Melo

1944 - 1992 Adapter of "ECUADOR" in El Himnario Presbiteriano Skinner Chavez-Melo, an organist, conductor and composer who was music director at the St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Manhattan, died on Saturday at New York Downtown Hospital. He was 47 years old and lived in Manhattan. He died of spinal cancer, said his brother, Juan Francisco. Mr. Chavez-Melo was born in Mexico City, but completed his musical studies in the United States, receiving degrees at Eastern Nazarene College and the Union Theological Seminary, and pursuing further studies at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School. He toured internationally as an organist and conducted orchestras in Mexico, Brazil and the United States. As a composer, he wrote works for organ, choir and orchestra, and contributed hymn settings to several published hymnals, including those of the United Church of Christ and Yale University. He also lectured and presented workshops on Hispanic church music. Besides directing music at St. Rose, Mr. Chavez-Melo conducted the annual Singing Christmas Tree concerts at the South Street Seaport. http://www.nytimes.com/1992/01/28
