1880 - 1937 Author of "Shall Bloom As A Rose" in Melodies of Love Born in Marlin, TX, he was associated with F. L. Eiland and the Eiland Music Company of Waco, TX. He spent his life writing songs, teaching music, and leading singing in rural churches. Ussery was credited with about 90 songs and 3 hymn books. Ne is buried in Winters, TX.
