Song of Victory

Author: DeLoss Smith Hymnal: The King of Kings #114 (1915) First Line: We are happy Christian soldiers, marching for the cause of right Refrain First Line: We are marching onward Lyrics: 1 We are happy Christian soldiers, marching for the cause of right, The Savior is our Captain and we’re bound to win the fight; Come and join us, and we’ll tell you how He wins by truth and love, As we’re marching to that home above. Refrain: We are marching onward For the cause of right, The royal banner Gleaming in the light; By the cross of Christ we’ll ever take our stand, As we’re marching to that heav’nly land. 2 When the bugle sounds for battle, we will never know a fear, Our armor is the Word of God, its truth our mighty spear; If we rally ‘round our Leader we will capture Satan’s band, As we’re marching to the heav’nly land. [Refrain] 3 Tho’ the way at times seems dreary, and our burdens hard to bear, If we but trust in Jesus He will lighten ev’ry care, So that when the battle’s over, and we never more shall roam, He will lead us to that heav’nly home. [Refrain] Languages: English Tune Title: [We are happy Christian soldiers, marching for the cause of right]
